Wes Samms serves as the Development Director for United Ways of California. He is responsible for fundraising, grants management and assisting with various advocacy initiatives.

Originally from New Orleans, Wes has worked in nonprofit management for ten years. His first job was helping to launch the first AmeriCorps program exclusively employing formerly incarcerated people. He received his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Kansas before beginning work focusing on health advocacy in 2012. Wes is based out of Sacramento, California.
