Cory Mims is the Trusted Messenger Program Manager at United Ways of California. In this role, Cory is responsible for the economic growth and financial empowerment of communities, utilizing in-person and digital outreach in collaboration with local partners. In addition, the program raises awareness about tax credits available to families who primarily identify as BIPOC and lower working class to ultimately lower poverty and increase health outcomes.

Cory graduated with a master’s degree in public administration from Murray State University. During his time at Murray State, Cory focused his research on best practices for implementing policies for BIPOC communities and identifying policies with the potential to advance racial and economic justice in rural and urban communities. Throughout his career, Cory has been dedicated to empowering disenfranchised communities and empowering others.
